The longer way to YALI RLC
Edited by Admin Users | Updated: Wednesday, 9 October 2019, 7:43 AMI'm Masudi Radjabu Papy from DRC. Before I encounter YALI I was working for a contractor company in United Nations mission in our Country named MONUSCO, as a Passenger Handling Services Lead. As we had access to Internet connection over there, I was benefiting from it to learn online. One day I liked the US Embassy Facebook page which displayed MOOC program from which I did several online courses. I was selected as the MOOC facilitator by Pascal, the former Alumni Coordinator at US Embassy/Kinshasa, this is where I heard about YALI. And Pascal encouraged me a lot to apply for , at that time it was about MWF. It was not easy for me to get selected. Believe me, the first time I submitted my application to Yali I did not succeed. I applied 10 times to YALI before I get selected as applicant of Cohort 12. I did not give up. I describe YALI as a School of life experience and a better place to define Africa and the world. The Skill I took with me from YALI first of all is the Foundation of Leadership based on the 7 habits of high effective People plus Mark MaCord advices at Limuru BrackenHust: As I said it a while, the YALI experience is mostly impacting on the person who I'm now by the leadership skills learned from the Center. After the training I discovered who I was and what role, as young Leader, I supposed to play to develop or to change my community. Before this no one in our community could hear from my commitment to bring change but after the training from the center, community members look now at me differently proud of the new person i'm now. Currently I'm running my Training center ASOJEM whose the aim is to permit other people to dream and discover who really they're. I've been able to share the fire from YALI, First it was in July 2017,at Kindu, I invited other young people to celebrate the Mandela legacy and apply it in our own life. In July of this year also I had a Debate Conference with different people including students whose the Topic was : Opportunities from here and elsewhere for young people, case of YALI, and so on...
